those Scriptures which reveal God’s plans as to the nations of the earth; for prophecy is but history written prior to the events. Therefore it is not at all unreasonable to suppose that he acted as tradition relates. This is the specific value of the study of prophecy, that it enables one to act in the present in the light of the things that are yet future. So writes the apostle Peter, when he tells us: “We have also the prophetic word made sure; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed in your hearts,
